A launch where the car moved before it was driven

A KUKA arm carrying a two-seat pod took launch guests through the new model's drive modes, synchronised to a 270-degree screen, in ninety-second rides that ran every four minutes for three days.

The brief was a test drive without a road. We mounted a two-seat pod on a KUKA KR 1000 titan and paired its motion with a 270-degree LED screen showing the car's own drive footage. The arm's path was written to the footage frame by frame, so a corner on screen is a lean in the seat. Safety came first: a light curtain, a two-hand start for the operator, and an envelope that keeps the pod inside a 5 m box. The ride ran 640 times over the event without a fault. Guests left with a clip of their ride, shot by a camera on the pod and sent to their phone before they reached the exit.
